I have picked 3 projects to show my work process and thinking. Every project is a different adventure to learn and grow. I am always excited to challenge myself and participate on a variety of visual projects.
I have worked in graphic design and illustration for clients and personal projects for the past 6 years. Color, shapes, fonts and layout are my passion and I love to engage in projects where I can push my visual design skills to new horizons.
I am a 2D animation by training (cutout, frame-by-frame traditional and digital animation). Nowadays I am directing 3 animated projects through my studio MJ Campos. I lead teams of several animators and artists who work with me to bring our ideas to life.
This is the MJ Campos demo reel, where I have played different roles: director, art director, motion graphics animator, color artist, post-producer and editor.
I am a designer, an illustrator, a teacher and an entrepreneur from Lima, Peru. I am also a big Studio Ghibli and Harry Potter fan, an obsessive stationery collector and a happy globe-trotter. I love color, salchipapas, and laugh until my stomach hurts.
I studied Audiovisual Communication in the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru, in the Universitat Politécnica de Valencia (Spain) and Classical Animation in Vancouver Film School (Canada). Currently I am studying an Erasmus Mundus Master in Children's Literature, Media and Culture in the University of Glasgow (United Kingdom), Aarhus University (Denmark) and University of Wroclaw (Poland).
A few years ago I opened MJ Campos, a studio specialized in audiovisual and design creation to inspire children, families and women in their creative journey. I am interested in telling fun stories about identity, cultural heritage and nature through paper and screen.
